Global Health Hackathon combines invention with innovation

The first Baylor College of Medicine Global Health Hackathon, established by Global Innovation Center and hosted by Baylor Global Initiatives, was held Sept. 19-20, 2015.

Around 100 hackers gathered for the event to solve a variety of health problems. Hackers split up into 18 teams and armed themselves with laptops, building supplies and a large group of diverse academic mentors. The teams worked throughout the weekend to solve problems caused by lack of resources, communications difficulty and, in the case of a problem presented by NASA, the vast expanse of space.
